Kids on Parade - Event #2

Actually, this was event #1, just posted in the wrong order. Here is Ian's class parading in their finery and pumpkin hunting in the school yard.

Kids on Parade - Event #1

A very well protected Kindergarten class...lots of super heros here!

The first of many events on a very, very long day. HT has an all school Halloween parade, followed by assembly and a class party.

Got Box Tops?

Recently yet another way to support Nate's school was brought to my attention. Box Tops for Education.

The Box Tops for Education program began in 1996 and has since helped schools nationwide earn more than $250 million. Each school can earn up to $60,000 annually ($20,000 for each program) by participating in the three programs, which include: Box Tops Marketplace, Box Tops Clipping, and Box Tops Reading Room.

I've only recently started paying attention to my boxes and cans to see if they have boxtops. Why don't you too? Throwing away a box top is like trashing a dime. Last year Holy Trinity raised $684. Not great, but not bad for a tiny school of around 250.

Take a moment and snip them out, won't you please? I'll send ya a stamp if you send them my way.

It's the Great Pumkin DKNI!

Baggenstos Pumpkin Patch-a family fav. patch and farm
The hay ride to the patch is the best part

Ok, so they grow them elsewhere on the farm and bring them all to one big field - sure makes it easy to find the perfect pumpkins!

Mama love

Daddy love
Brotherly loveIan cruising for the right one

Nate found his over and over and over

Hay maze mastered in minutes
They even have animals on the farm

We thought the sheep was the cutest. ;-)

Run Baby Run!

On your marks, get set, GO!
Getting marked for each lap
4 down and feeling good
Lap 11, going strong. Look at those red cheeks!
The official count

Words can not express how proud we are of Nate for his efforts at the Jog A Thon this morning! The kindergarten class ran for 30 minutes starting at 10am. Today was the perfect weather day - not a cloud in the sky, beautiful and sunny. This is definitely not typical Oregon weather for October 22!

Nate ran the entire 30 minutes and completed 12 laps (although when I count the hash marks on his bib I count 13) which is about 2.2 miles - a lap is 1/5 mile. Truly amazing that these little kids can run like that. He was very proud of himself as well!

Ian and I were there to cheer him and the other kids on and walked much of the time too.

Thank you to everyone for your generous pledges!

From the mouth of Ian

Conversation while getting dressed this morning...

Mom: Where are your socks Ian?
Ian: I took them off.
Mom: How come?
Ian: Because Nate didn't have any on.
Mom: (puzzled look)
Ian: And I do everything Nate does. Nate is sooooo cool!
