Accepted

Both Nate and Ian got acceptance letters this past week. I swear, I think I spend more time researching preschools and kindergartens than I did my own college.
Nate's was the biggie ~ he has been accepted to Holy Trinity Parish School. It is a full day kindergarten program in a very small, Catholic school. He'll go from 8-3pm and wear a uniform. I think this is going to rock his little world, but ultimately, I think he will love it.
Ian will be going to Prince of Peace preschool in the fall, 2 days a week.

Back from TLC

TLC = The Log Cabin. Mostly restful and relaxing.
Today we arrived home from TLC. I think we drove back thru every kind of weather possible - light snow, rain, clouds, bright sun, blizzard, fog, wind. We had a great week. There are still burms of snow all around the cabin so the boys were able to sled a bit.
We met a country dog wandering around, probably a neighbor dog, that the boys fell in love with (NO, we are not getting a dog!) They adopted "Stick Dog" and spend hours wearing this dog out with their throwing abilities. Despite the slobber that we were constantly wiping off, Dave and I were glad that the found they found another playmate!
Saturday we went Schweitzer Mountain Resort. Haven't been up there in the winter in years. It was sunny and gorgeous! The village has great shops and restaurants. It's very quaint and cute. They even pipe funky jazz music in so we were entertained while we sledded around the village. Nate will tell you his favorite part was when we launched the boys from hill that had been kind of a dud. Since they had stalled out every other time, neither of us were waiting at the bottom. Of course this time it was full speed ahead and they went whipping past me at about 20 mph headed straight for the lodge. A big green garbage can broke the fall for two hysterical (laughing) boys.
Back to the grind, Dave has a great new house listing going up tomorrow. They boys kick off birthday party season this weekend - seems they have one per weekend for a while.

Party on!

Nate had a small party at Chuck E Cheese today for his 5th birthday. Friday's are a great time to go because it is pretty tame compared to the weekend. I was happy to not have a mess to clean up at home. Friends Collin, Carson, Joe and Finn (plus siblings!) joined Nate for fun and games and pizza. Nate chose to have a 'cookie cake' since he isn't a big cake fan but a huge chocolate chip cookie fan. He's loving all of his gifts. So far since we've been home we've built one of his new lego sets (let's just dub this year as the year of the lego, shall we?), the boys launched a zillion rocket balloons off the stairs and are now playing walkie talkie around the play room. Whew!

Happy Birthday Nate

No longer our baby boy...
